Joy Rings
Oddly, the first thing that came to mind when I first laid eyes on this piece was how much it reminded me of a DNA structure, the very structure we studied in Chemistry classes. Perhaps it brought back memories of us having to fashion DNA structures out of coloured plasticine and string one lesson.
But really, if you think about it, those structures are pretty amazing stuff, holding the key to our very being is no small feat - I'd say they were joy rings (or as my Chemistry teacher would say, double helices), indeed.
